On March 5th I chopped it up with Hell Razah Music, Inc. / GGO producer Miverson in regards to his upcoming debut full production project “Witness the Strength”. If you missed the interview, you can scroll down a few posts and find it. Today after three years of hard work, WTS is now released and available for free download via AudioMack!

This 46-track project features Hell Razah, iNtell (son of Wu-Tang Clan’s U-God), Fes Taylor, Jahmal, Stealf Bombz, Ruthless Bastards, Stumik (of Ice-Water), Mic Check, and of course yours truly Queen the Prophet just to name a few.

Exclusive Interview with @miverson_ #GGO #RI #WitnessTheStrength 3/12/15

Since the release of “Witness the Strength” is only a few days away and it’s been about 2-years since I’ve chopped it up with Hell Razah Music, Inc. /GGO Producer Miverson, I figured we were long over due for a “sit down” (digitally speaking of course).

10292545_765890273448736_3022269934732935767_n

QTP: Boss, Boss, Boss… It’s been about 2 years since we last sat down to chop it up interview style. How have you been & what’s new in your world?
MAV: Wow, really 2 years already, time flies when your working hard. I’ve been great thank you. Just been really working on this project as well as others for 2015.
QTP: Your project “Witness the Strength” is finally ready for release and will be dropping the 12th of this month. I don’t think most people realize how long a production project can take or all the work that goes into a MXTP or Album release. You want to shed some light on the amount of work you put into this project?

MAV: You ain’t lying. Honestly I thought I can get a few tracks and just release. That was not the case what so ever. I realized that I have a great opportunity here so I wanted to take my time putting it together. It took almost 3 years for WTS to be completed and up to my standards. Now I can finally release it and be satisfied.

QTP: Is this your first full production project that’s featuring multiple artists?

MAV: Not my first fully produced project, but its my first fully produced project featuring multiple artists.

QTP: What other projects have you done in the past year or so that features your production?

MAV: I recently released “TheyDontHearMeTho” which is a project that I fully produced featuring Fes Taylor. I also have a joint project that i fully produced with a Nebraska rapper by the name of Strive and that project is called “FeedMeMo”. You can find all my projects onwww.DatPiff.com

QTP: What’s the artist line-up look like for WTS? Who can folks expect to hear artist wise and is there a hosting DJ?

MAV: Let’s see I have Razah on the intro and a track ft. Jahmal, you QTP, Automatik,
iNTeLL(Son of U-God), Fes Taylor, Stealf Bombz, Ruthless Bastards, Stumik(of Ice-Water), Mic Check, just to name a few. I also have a few local rappers. Overall I think the line-up is great. I was thinking of having a DJ host it but It didn’t work out that way, so maybe next time.

QTP: Now that the project is release ready, are you happy with the end result?

MAV: Happy is an under statement! I am really excited, ecstatic and nervous.

QTP: Is there any significance in the chosen release date?

MAV: Well I had a few dates to choose from and the date that stood out of course was my Birthday. So as a gift to myself and my fan base I picked March 12th. Can’t get any better then that!

QTP: Where will the project be available for download?

MAV: It will be available on Www.DatPiff.com for free download.

QTP: Are there anymore projects that you’re working on? What’s next?

MAV: Yes I have a few projects lined up. I have a project with Automatik Greatness (InfoWarz), the project that you and I are working on (No title yet) and if WTS does well I might have Volumes of it.

QTP: I have to say for me  personally, the chemistry that you and I bring together on tracks is something that I know I don’t experience with every producer. Every track we have released so far has been received well by the listeners, and as an Artist I know there is just such a significant difference in the music when a producer is sending you beats versus the beats a producer makes for you specifically. Our last release “Q.T.P.” I remember I didn’t even like the beat at first until you told me to listen to it again because the beat sounded like it was saying “QTP”. What is it like for you as a producer? I know you have great chemistry with Automatik Greatness, but do you get to experience that every time you work with someone or is each person different?

MAV: Yes you and I have been putting out that FUEGO lol. Chemistry is definitely there. As for other artist chemistry is there as well, I have a hand full of artist that I have an idea what they like so it makes it easier on both parts. Like Fes Taylor, you mentioned Automatik and iNTeLL (Son of U-God) & yourself.

QTP: What is the most challenging part about working with artists?

MAV: I would have to say time. Everybody lives their seprate lives so I can’t always expect someone to drop what their doing to do a track for me. Other then that I think I’m pretty good shape when it comes to collaborations. I am a very patient person so that helps with my music.

QTP: What is the most challenging thing you’ve done as a producer thus far?

MAV: Getting Witness The Strength where it is now. I’ve come a long way Queen, I remember sitting there making music for fun then one day it all turned around in a blink of an eye. Now I’m sitting here waiting for a release on a project that features artists like Razah, Fes, QTP etc. Its truly a blessing.

QTP: If you could work with anyone in the world (living or deceased) who would it be and why?

MAV: Damn, I’m stumped. I would say RZA only because he is the reason I produce. So to have him on a track produced by Miverson would be sick. Of course GZA, Masta Killa, iNS, and a few other cats from my era. Nas, Jay-Z, if Big L was alive him as well. I’m willing to work with anyone though, I don’t discriminate.

QTP: Boss, where can folks find you on your social media handles?

MAV: -Instagram @MiversonMav
-Twitter @Miverson_
-YouTube @Miverson27
-Facebook @Miverson27
-SoundCloud @Miverson

QTP: Is there anything else you want folks to know?

MAV: Just a quick thank you to all the artists that helped me put this together. It wasnt easy but its DONE! Also be on the look out for more Miverson production in the near future. With that being said, Queen I appreciate you taking time out of your busy life to sit and have an interview with me. I also want to thank you for all the support you have giving me throughout the year. You have helped in so many ways. Peace & Wingz Up!

#HipHop101 Don’t be deceived, #Digital #Distribution

images (86)

Now although the information I post under this category is really information you would have to pay for (by hiring a management or development person or paying for it in the way you spend all of your money before you learn it), I can’t stand to see people be stupid. I’m probably going to upset a few folks with this post because in the event aspiring recording artists actually read this, they may stop wasting money.

images (87)

First, let’s break a few things down. Major record labels are your Def Jam, Sony, Atlantic, Etc. Independent labels are smaller versions of majors, independently owned/ operated and they actually turn a profit. An “indie label” is NOT a company that you and a few friends started and didn’t even follow through with the proper business end to make it an actual business. I’m explaining this because a lot of UNDERGROUND artists refer to themselves as indies. The word indie actually refers to a professional recording artist that is signed to an independent label. The misunderstanding of terms causes things like ten thousand people thinking their You Tube videos are going to be taken down because the article said “artists signed to independent labels” and they were referring to mainstream independent artists (i.e. Tech N9ne, Frank Ocean) not underground artists.  Like with any career, it’s important that you know what you’re talking about for your own good and it’s extremely insulting to the folks who actually know what they’re doing. It’s like me showing up at the hospital to preform surgery because I can cut good with a butter knife.

download (1)

“The Record Deal”- Please. This hardly happens at all since the game turned digital. NOBODY is “signing” any artist for a significant amount of money unless that artist is already making the kind of money that is worthy of that investment, The deal that some of you would be willing to sell your first born for tomorrow isn’t even what you think it is. A standard major label contract is 80/20 or 70/30. Meaning you get 20% or 30% the label gets the rest because they put up the money for your videos, hotel rooms, studio time, clothes, shows, rented cars, etc. They OWN YOU with these contracts. They own your stage name, social media, and dictate your sound, style, lyrics, and to top it all off if you refuse? They “shelf” you. That means they own you as the artist and they wait out your contract and you release no music until you fulfill what they are requiring or whoever you are as an artist is silent until that contract is over. Good luck being a new artist and not having anything in rotation for five years. The only time an artist can be the wealthy that most people dream about is when that person invests their money in other things or has major sponsors like Pepsi.

images

We could go in deeper but today I want to pull the curtains back on specifically the “Digital Distribution Deal”. In case you didn’t know ( and you SHOULD KNOW if you consider yourself an artist), the digital world is very underground /indie artist friendly. For under $200 you can get your music copy written, and distributed to all of the major electronic stores like iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, iHeartRadio, etc. There are plenty of sites (Tune Core, CD Baby, Band Camp) you can get your music out for very little money. What good does that do you? Absolutely nothing if you don’t have a fan base or to buy your music and a budget for promotion period point blank, end of story. Making music is not cheap and being successful in music costs lots of money. The digital world may make it look easy, but if it was? Don’t you think everybody would be driving around in a Mercedes?

images (68)

There are different levels to the “Digital distribution Deal”. In most cases, you end up paying a record label to use their distribution account. They have the same exact “digital distribution” that you can get yourself. Most companies that offer this have an actual record label attached to it and you are paying to use their digital name. Meaning, I am a Hell Razah Music, Inc. artist. We could make Hell Razah Music Digital, charge you $1000 for our distribution through Hell Razah Music Digital (watch the word play, it looks the same but being signed to “digital” indicates you are not an actual label artist) and you are paying for our name so you can tell people you’re signed to Hell Razah Music Digital and whatever weight the name carries is what you’re paying for and we may even throw in logo use so you can deceive who is willing to be fooled that your deal is more then using our Tune Core account. Then, we also collect a percentage of your music sales as well as count the numbers of whatever units you moved towards our overall units moved for the year, then we as the actual label look much better to our investors because of the total number of units we moved. If we offered this deal to 50 people, we make $50k and if each person sells 100 units, we can add 5k units moved to our overall numbers as a label. Let that sink in and some of you may have to read it twice. Most “digital deals” are exactly this, a hustle and you my dear are the one being hustled because it’s cheaper to pay the fee and hope you are also buying  buzz and fan base then to spend thousands of your own money the right way.

A7efOjHCMAA9GKw

This is not all digital distributors just the majority. Most of these digital distributors do not offer any promotion or anything else with the “deal”. Some may actually include some type of promotion and that is an important thing you need to find out (NEVER sign anything without an Entertainment Attorney present, and yes that costs money too). In some cases you would be better off spending that thousand on your own digital distribution account and pouring the rest of the money into promotion. If you’ve ever seen a label and scratched your head when you saw their “artists” this is probably why. Just because someone has signed a digital distribution deal, does not in anyway, shape, or form mean they are “signed” to a label in the traditional sense you’re used to and a good deal of them? ARE PAYING TO WEAR THE LOGO.

download

The average person would have no idea that the logo above isn’t actually Def Jam. Def Jam Digital actually partnered with Tune Core for awhile a few years back, made Def Jam Island Digital and a few lucky folks got to pretend they were signed to Def Jam and made a few bucks. I’m familiar with this because a former mainstream artist tried to “help me” a few years back and told me that all I had to do was add Def Jam Island Digital to Battlegrownd Entertainment and I would be able to charge people for distribution. Too bad I’m not a person who robs people, I probably could have made a nice chunk of change 😉

HELL RAZAH @razah_rubiez GHETTO GOVT USA VOL 1 MXTP REVIEW

Wu-Tang Clan Affiliate HELL RAZAH @heavenrazah releases new series of GHETTO GOVT MXTPS.

On Election Day {November 5, 2013} alongside the Million Mask March {you know, the Anonymous Mask March that actually happened in over 150 countries around the globe and had ZERO news coverage?}

Wu-Tang Clan Affiliate / Sunz of Man youngest member Hell Razah released a new series of his global movement GHETTO GOVT MXTPS. {United Hoods of America volumes 2 & 3 are available for free download via www.datpiff.com or http://www.wtcfolife.blogspot.com}  This series GHETTO GOVT USA (Under Seraphim Authority, Volume 1 hosted by Dj Yello) launched a commercial days before the release and to-date has surpassed the Dat Piff download/ stream numbers from the last 2.

Click to watch:

This MXTP includes industry heavy hitters like Hell Razah, Killah Priest, Timbo King (Wu-Tang Clan), Sadat X (Brand Nubian), and Young Nobel (Outlawz), Hell Razah Music, Inc. artists Kappo (aka Yung Razah/ GGO Chief of Staff), Scripture (GGO Attorney General), Automatik Greatness (GGO Secretary of Defense), Continuous (GGO Area 51), and of course yours truly, QTP (GGO 1st Lady).  This series though, did not have any outside guests. Typically there are 3-4 non-GGO slots available per MXTP for sale, but this last release is an entire GHETTO GOVT project. GGO Members from NY, CT, PA, NJ, AZ, GA, MA, TX, & Canada made up the incredible mix of various styles that are all housed on one MXTP. This MXTP also includes a sneak peek snippet “The Book of Rachel” {QTP ft. Hell Razah} off the long anticipated GGO Album (produced by Dr. G of the UK) which is anticipated for 2014.

*Drum Roll* Now…. I want to give you my personal feedback on this last MXTP. This MXTP does not have commercials etc. and yes, true indeed does actually sound more like an album. There is some of everything on this MXTP really though, there’s a couple club bangers, some real hard core gritty tracks, battle rap, and most of all {what I am personally most proud of} is that most of the music on this MXTP is music with a message. There are several tracks with no profanity and fall more along the lines of conscious/ revolutionary/ spiritual hip-hop. When is the last time you heard a project that is not filled beginning to end with music you cringe because your kids are in the backseat? (Well I sorta take that back because not enough people care about what they feed into little ears but that’s a whole other article, back to the music).

QTP: Peace Sneak!

QTP: For those of you that don’t know, Sneak Vandel is one of my new favorite people (mostly because he’s nuts) but also happens to be a brilliant producer and an official Ghetto Govt member. Sneak, tell the people about yourself, because you do more then just produce.

SNEAK: Glad you added “brilliant” in there or I wasn’t gonna answer this question. Lol

I’m a former gospel artist and that’s where I started my hip-hop career. I put a few records out in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. After a going thru some family things I decided to retire from that aspect of life. After a brief hiatus I started producing to ease my way back into hip-hop. I did a few local albums with some emcees from around my way and mastered my craft. To date I’m a producer, emcee, graphic artist and loyal member of GGO.

photo (4)

QTP: We have all seen the Wu-Tang tattoo, who are some of the Clan affiliates you have worked with in the past and are working with now?

SNEAK: The tattoo is homage to Wu because of their influence on me since 36 chambers. And the fact that they are and always will be the greatest group in hip-hop. I’ve recently just started working with Clan affiliates so my résumé isn’t THAT extensive. I was featured on Judah Priest Sleepy Hollow album on World War 4. I’ve contributed 5 or 6 tracks to his new album also. I know I have work I need to do for Buddha Monk and BKZU. I’m just taking it as it comes ya know…

QTP: I possibly may have heard a rumor that you are creating some sort of masterpiece beat for a collab track with Wu-Tang Affiliate Judah Priest (Brooklyn Zu/ Ghetto Govt) and the infamous Queentheprophet.  Can you confirm or deny such a rumor?

SNEAK: A tru master never gives up his secrets. But it is possible that those wheels are turning. Lol

QTP: You’re working on some things with Razah as well right?

SNEAK: Yeah me and Razah have been building and I have been constructing some heaterz for dude. He’s always been one of my favorite Clan brethren. So I’m excited to be collaborating with him. And I look to do a lot more with him in the future. WINGZ UP!

QTP: What other projects are you working on music & otherwise?

SNEAK: Right now my focus is on Razah and what he needs to complete his work. I don’t like to muddy the waters and take on too many projects at once. I like to focus on an artist so I can deliver quality music to them. Too many cat JUST put out whatever they can, very few put out quality.

QTP: To-date what has been your most memorable project?

SNEAK: My first studio album. It was with a group called Raiderz of the Lost and the album was Prepare for the Spillage. It was at that point that I was able to do music full tilt. Touring was dope and I met a lot of chill people. Plus it was my first world wide distributed album. Side note: that was when I met Judah Priest also.

QTP: That will change after we work together though right?

SNEAK: Depends on if you keep giving me a hard time. Lol

QTP: Is there anyone you really want to work with that you haven’t already? (besides me of course)

SNEAK: I like how most of these questions somehow involve you too. Lol!  Guess that’s why you’re the Queen.

I’d love to do work with Killah Priest, Gza, RA the Rugged Man, and any of the core WTC members. I’d also like to do work for a Sunz of Man reunion album (hint hint).

QTP:  Anything else you want folks to know?

SNEAK: I’m white…

Sike nah….

No really…I’m a white dude.

NEVER GIVE UP by @queentheprophet

Greetings Fam!

Peace and blessings. I want to talk about something that every person in the world needs to hear. Let’s talk about not giving up. Life can deal us all curve balls that we weren’t expecting and sometimes those curveballs come from our own karma. The thing that we forget most is that God is not a genie in a bottle. When you pray for things like faith, God does not wave a magic wand and boom you have faith. Situations which will allow you to test your faith and make your faith strong pop up.

When you have something in your heart that you can’t go a day without thinking about, never give up. It does not matter what it looks like on the outside. We as human beings are impatient. We want everything here and now, and when it doesn’t go the way WE THINK it should go, too often times we assume it’s not working. In actuality what appears to be a set-back is normally a set-up for something even greater if you hang on.

I have found (the hard way, because simply I am hardheaded… yea I know, I’m working on it) that in any of my tornado of situations, that how we are responding to the test is exactly what predicts the outcome of the reward. Think about it, have you ever been sorry in the long run that you took the high road in a situation as opposed to reacting in temporary emotion? Fam, people are mean, people lie on you, people are nasty, and I’m sorry but that is just a part of life. We cannot control other people, but we can absolutely control ourselves. If you allow it to anger you, it controls you.

If you lay down with pigs you’re gonna get dirty. You can’t be mad any anyone but yourself that you jumped in a pig pen. Too often times we forget to accept the personal responsibility in situations, even the ones that aren’t necessarily your fault. I’m going to share this with you, because quite honestly it’s the best exsample I can think of and if it helps one person? It was worth it. I got married in my early twenties and it was a disaster. I got married for all the wrong reasons. I was in church and I thought I was on my way to hell and I had to marry the person I was living with. That was one of the stupidest things to-date that I have ever done. The marriage ended in divorce and it wasn’t technically my fault because my former husband cheated on me continuously.

Here’s the thing though, I got over it not because of divorce and not because years later I got an apology. I got over it because I learned that I played a part in it too. I got married for the wrong reasons. I knew my X-husband was a terrible boyfriend, and it was nobody’s fault but MINE that he was turned into a terrible husband. I knew full well what it was when I did it, I did it anyway. If you can get raw with yourself infront of the mirror and accept the part that you played and throw that pride in the trash? I promise that you will find yourself getting over things faster and healing. The evidence of healing is you stop talking about it every time somebody scratches that surface. If every time somebody puts a quarter in your slot and you start running your mouth? You’re not over it.

You can’t give up on things no matter how grim they may appear. FEAR= FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. Don’t give up on love, don’t give up on life, don’t give up on your dreams, and NEVER give up on yourself.

Be Blessed –
