Wheat and Weeds
The testing, trials, & suffering the people of God face is so the unbelieving can see how the wheat ones handle it from the weed ones. See, there’s good and bad in every kind under the sun. There are a lot of people that say they love God but their actions are far from Him. The only way an unbelieving person would ever know that God loves them, is if you love them (and it will work that way for whatever parts of God’s character you’re trying to witness about). If you want to tell somebody that there is freedom in Christ, even in your struggles then your most effective tool for communicating that message is to let it be alive and well inside of you. “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13:30
Seek God 1st
(Matthew 6:33) It says SEEK FIRST the kingdom of #God and His righteousness AND THEN all else will be added. You can’t skip the first part & expect stuff . Come on man that’s like showing up to the Olympics demanding a metal and you didn’t even play in the games or like me showing up at the phone company on pay day for a check & I don’t even work there . People that do that are the same folks that look at your hand of cards when you go to the bathroom.
There’s levels to this…
I want to demonstrate a point with images most of you can relate to.
You cannot give up, and you are not allowed to quit. There are times during our walk that the refining fire gets turned up. Do you know that sometimes people never reach their full potential or get all that God has for them and it’s their own fault? I am sure you’ve heard the saying “new levels, new devils” right? See, stage 1 is the easy stage and most people get through it after a few tries. The levels get harder as you go up and the obstacles become more difficult.
Sometimes people quit and stay stuck on a certain level because they don’t want to push through the difficulties or feel like they can’t. If God has given you great dreams, great visions, & great purpose? Expect great tests & stress. Change your perspective. Adversary keeps us on our toes otherwise we’d get comfortable and lazy and I don’t care who you are, that’s just straight facts.
Of course we don’t want to be in adversary, uncomfortable, or rocked out of our comfort zone (especially me! Ask anyone who knows me well, I hate even talking to people half the time lol) but nothing great ever came from a comfort zone. You’re welcome.
Compliments
I don’t live for people’s compliments. If I did, I would die when they criticized me.
We all need a compliment or an encouraging word every now and then but we cannot live for those things. It’s far better to be a God pleaser then a people pleaser. God loves you unconditionally, every day, even at your worst. People? People are imperfect so we can’t rely on them more then we rely on God. There are time’s when we find ourselves alone and we have got to fight ourselves out of a corner and back to life, not roll over and die. If we allow our self-worth and self-esteem to be based solely upon what other people think or say instead of what God has already said & declared over our lives then when people deliver a criticism instead of a compliment, we’re gonna get messed up.
#Life Lessons: Self Examination
Spiritual Maturity (Lesson 1)
There is a HARD lesson in life that earning an upgrade of spiritual maturity comes with. Not everyone is going to love you, and not everyone is going to like you. In fact, the #bible actually tells us that people will hate you for the stand you take for Christ. (Matt 10:16-33, John 15:18, 2 Tim 2:3-4) But when you understand that ALL things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and were called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28) you’re able to digest those harder lessons. See when someone hates you, it forces you to look at yourself and figure out what it is that they’re seeing that they hate so much. In the words of Bishop Jakes, “folks have hated me on a level I didn’t even know I was on.” Did you catch that tho? Sometimes YOU don’t even fully know the power of the weight of the call and the impact of the anointing God has placed over your life until it causes someone to hate you at a level where they sacrifice moments of their own life just to engage in hating you. There are people in this world who are so miserable in their own lives, instead of fixing what’s wrong with them they invest their time and energy into trying to make other people just as miserable as they are. However, when you can look at yourself and understand exactly what it is that God has given you? When you can get before God and actually genuinely pray for people who do you wrong? You won’t ever spend another moment worried about what someone else may or may not think or say about you because all you will truly care about is at the end of it all hearing the words, “well done my good & faithful servant”.
