Thank you all so much for your continued support over the years. I appreciate everyone who has taken time out of their busy day in order to read an article posted here.
After much thought, I decided that I am going to start updating the categories and content featured here. I don’t really follow the social norm as far as blogging is concerned. I know a lot of folks pick what kind of blog they want and dedicate their posting around a certain topic. That never really worked for me because I like to represent on my blog what and who I really am.
I am a person who has worked (and still does) for over 17 years in the field of Human/Social Services working with families, children, and individuals with disabilities. I am a person who has worked and still works in the music/ entertainment industry not only as an artist, but in many different administrative functions. I am a person who has been an entrepreneur for over a decade and I am a person who not only talks about God, but someone who tries their best to walk that belief out in my everyday life.
I’ve done a lot of growing and maturing since I started this blog and someone very dear to my heart always has told me that everything God allows you to go through is to help someone else. So I feel inclined to give away everything that I’ve learned so that hopefully it will help someone else. With that being said, currently my life is so hectic I don’t fall asleep, I pretty much collapse at the end of the day. I am a full-time caregiver, I manage a full-time health staff and do 170 hours of payroll bi-weekly. I am a full-time care manager (which is someone who coordinates all health and community programs for an individual with a disability), I care for several children full-time Monday-Friday, I am the First Lady to Hell Razah’s (Wu-Tang Clan/Sunz of Man risendocumentary.com) Ghetto Govt Global Movement, I oversee the development and Management of two independent record labels, as well as work in my church administrative office while managing to make time for family and friends, and at some point attempt to work on my own music and book. Yes. I do all of this 7 days a week, I rarely get a break and if you ask me how, I can only spell out J-E-S-U-S, that’s how LOL.
So in my re-design, I’m going to keep a lot of things like music I’m involved with, interviews, Encouragement articles, Hip-Hop 101 for Independent Artists, and #TeamQueen but I really want to add a lot of stuff I’ve learned over the last few years like how to feed 8 kids on a budget, parenting techniques, time management, budgeting, and personal organization. I also want to address things that are important to me because after all it is my blog. I hope that you all will enjoy the updates, thank you all for your continued support!
So.. apparently the new “challenge” is doing a remix of Monica’s track “So Gone” from her “After the Storm” album (which by the way was originally released on my Birthday June 17th in 2003). Absolutely one of those timeless albums that if you played it today 13 years later it would still be good.
So what I’m sharing is in my opinion one of the best (if not thee best) #SoGoneChallenge attempts I’ve seen by Elwood (Elwood Music).
You can check Elwood out on Facebook & Twitter:
Are you prepared or are you a bang & fizzle? A bang & fizzle person is someone who has a million ideas, starts with a bang but ends with a fizzle. They never really see anything through to the end and eventually just have a million ideas that have all started with a bang but all ended with a fizzle. I’ve done it myself especially when I was a brand new entrepreneur. I have learned through my years of experience (both successes and failures) that a lot of the time the reason for the fizzle is unpreparedness.
This doesn’t relate to only business though, often times we are not even prepared for the things we desire or are praying for. Sometimes we even can find ourselves frustrated when we have an idea or vision that we feel in our heart is the right thing to do or something God gave us but then it doesn’t quite fall into place like we expect or as quickly as we thought it would. We can’t receive new blessings with an old mindset. People pray for a spouse without making any preparation to actually be a spouse . People want to start a business but never actually sit down and write a business plan. People want to go back to school but never figure out how they’re going to re-arrange their schedule to fit in time for class and homework. People think they’re ready for a promotion but lack the ability to control their own emotions which directly impacts your ability to lead anything. So many people want to break into the music game but never research how much of their own money they’ll have to invest in order to generate a buzz. There’s a whole lot of folks praying for the winning power ball numbers and think all of their problems in life will be solved with millions of dollars but they can’t even wisely manage a tax refund. The list goes on and on.
If you ever sit down with a successful person and ask them how they became so successful, the first thing they’ll normally tell you is about is all the time they were unsuccessful. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s or envy what someone else has because you have no idea what they went through or sacrificed to get there. If you believe in the vision you have, take the time to prepare for it properly. Do your research, date yourself, learn how to budget, and do whatever else is necessary to help you be in the best position to receive what you’re asking for or working towards.
Greetings Daughter Of Zion & your anointed team. I’m a 23 year old son from KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. Before I say anything, I just need to tell you guys how much I love you. Thank you for always striving for the Truth to prevail & God’s Purpose to be fulfilled. You put your lives into it. Back to the Advisory session, I’m a young aspiring MC & Producer. I go by the name Black Angel. I need to be in close contact with the ins and outs of the industry. I’m dedicated to living and fulfilling God’s Purpose in my life. Can I testify? There’s been a lot of instances in my life where the devil tried to take my life away, but failed because of God’s protection in my life. I pray you read this message & find it in your heart to help me achieve the Dream. My upbringing was really hard here in South Africa, but I know God has tons of things he kept me here to do. This may be asking for a bit much, but I would really really love to meet Queen The Prophet, Hell Razah (El Raziel) & the whole Ghetto Government Officialz Movement. Now when that happens, you guys will be planting a seed in my brain, which I will cultivate and nurture to grow and eliminate all the evil. I need all the knowledge and wisdom you guys possess. I’m so passionate about this, but at the same time I’m a bit afraid that some of the things you guys will reveal to me may scare me. Having said that, I truly believe that you have to be brave and find that inner strength in your Soul to discover what is really what on this Earth. Thank you so much for taking your time to digest my words. Please tell El Raziel that I love him and everybody. You guys is the Truth- S. Ngcobo, South Africa
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is always a humbling moment when someone let’s you know that what God has enabled you to do has touched the life of someone else. Your testimony is encouraging and you will be in my prayers that God continues to move in your life and bless your walk with Christ. Stay in His word because those are the seeds that will keep you firmly rooted.
Meet 18 year-old Afro (All Flows Reach Out). Afro has been referred to as “the future of hip-hop”, and if you haven’t heard him rhyme? I’m sure after you do, you’d be inclined to agree with that statement. Mentored by hip-hop veteran RA the Rugged Man, R.A. became aware of the young emcee when A-F-R-O entered a freestyle contest on YouTube hosted by R.A. “This kid won the contest before it was even ended.”-RA (http://uproxx.com/music/2015/09/afro-ra-the-rugged-man-uncharted)
I had the pleasure of meeting both of them back in October of this year, while filming scenes from Hell Razah’s upcoming documentary “Risen, the story of Chron Hell Razah Smith”(directed by Frank Meyer). Although it’s probably not a secret to Afro that he is extremely talented, he is one of the most humble young men I’ve ever met and that just makes me even more excited to share his music with you. I’d also like to go on record for being the first person to refer to him as a “Supernova”. I haven’t seen that in print yet, so I’m saying it and printing it.
Over this past week, the official music video “Code #829” was released (11/18/15) and can be found on his new mix tape “Tales from the Basement”. “This is just a mixtape joint A-F-R-O recorded at his mothers house. Just having fun murdering flows and spitting lyrical codes for fans to decipher.. this is super ill but wait till you hear the official music and what we got in store for you all.”-RA
California-bred lyrical titan A-F-R-O aka All Flows Reach Out debuts his first official music video, “Code #829”. Taken from A-F-R-O’s new mixtape “Tales From The Basement”, the track finds R.A. The Rugged Man’s protege going in over some vintage RZA production.
