Break Through

Believers often petition God for their “break through”. This is a blanket kind of statement because it’s often used to refer to a spiritual, health, physical, blessing, or financial promise they’re believing God for.

We often get frustrated when God isn’t moving as fast as we in our human reasoning think He should move. I’ve learned the hard way (many times) sometimes we are the ones holding up that “break through” because we are not positioned for it.

I want to share a personal testimony that happened to me recently. Last week I had surgery for the first time in my life. A surgery that I’ve put off for a long time that involved my reproductive capacity. Without this surgery, I would never be able to have a child because physically things were out of order so to speak. I had a word I was hanging on to but I wasn’t in position for it to come to pass.

So I finally allowed myself to be uncomfortable and go through the pain (literally) or putting myself into position. Too often times we want the outcome but not the process. We are responsible to do the possible and what we have control over and it is up to a very capable God to do what is considered impossible by normal human standards.

Everybody wants the joy of Resurrection Sunday but nobody wants to endure the pain of Good Friday. We can’t experience the full joy of life unless we’ve known the pain of death. There are somethings, situations, people, and places that are dead weight in our life but they’ve been there so long it’s become normal or comfortable. On the other side of allowing yourself to be uncomfortable, experience growing pains, feel lonely for just a little while is exactly where you need to be standing in position ready to receive the manifestation of your break through.

People of God: Hold your position

This has been in my heart to speak for a few days.

People of God:

Don’t give up. Don’t quit. Hold your position, it’s coming.

May the grace of of lord and savior Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen.

#WednesdayWisdom Setting Boundaries

20160824-123156.jpg

Boundaries are important because they set limits. Too often times many of us find ourselves stressed out simply because we don’t have any clearly established boundaries in our life. There are limits and boundaries in every part of our lives even if we fail to recognize them or acknowledge them.

There’s order and structure in Heaven and even the kingdom of darkness has an order and rank that’s followed. Home, church, work, school, etc all have limits and rules to some extent. For some reason though, people seem to have the hardest time when it comes to developing personal boundaries. Some folks have no idea how to respect them and that’s not entirely their fault because many people don’t even know how to have them so the “norm” in most cases is for people to actually feel a false sense of entitlement to do or say whatever they want. Have you ever said no and then been asked a million questions as to why you said no, then felt obligated to talk more?

We have got to learn an internal system of healthy limit setting. Self-preservation is not selfish and you don’t owe everyone an explanation. This isn’t a free pass to be disrespectful or obnoxious but you can say no and own your no. It’s up to you to decide what you are willing to commit to, tolerate, and even the way you allow other people to communicate with you and treat you. I make it a point to speak to everyone with respect. It doesn’t always mean I’m going to tell them something they desire to hear, but I will speak in a respectful manner and if they’re not going to speak to me in the same manner then we won’t speak until that can happen.

It is so important we understand our worth because once we truly understand our worth, we will have a much easier time protecting it.

Spiritual Maturity (Lesson 1)

images (22)

There is a HARD lesson in life that earning an upgrade of spiritual maturity comes with. Not everyone is going to love you, and not everyone is going to like you. In fact, the #bible actually tells us that people will hate you for the stand you take for Christ. (Matt 10:16-33, John 15:18, 2 Tim 2:3-4) But when you understand that ALL things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and were called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28) you’re able to digest those harder lessons. See when someone hates you, it forces you to look at yourself and figure out what it is that they’re seeing that they hate so much. In the words of Bishop Jakes, “folks have hated me on a level I didn’t even know I was on.” Did you catch that tho? Sometimes YOU don’t even fully know the power of the weight of the call and the impact of the anointing God has placed over your life until it causes someone to hate you at a level where they sacrifice moments of their own life just to engage in hating you. There are people in this world who are so miserable in their own lives, instead of fixing what’s wrong with them they invest their time and energy into trying to make other people just as miserable as they are. However, when you can look at yourself and understand exactly what it is that God has given you? When you can get before God and actually genuinely pray for people who do you wrong? You won’t ever spend another moment worried about what someone else may or may not think or say about you because all you will truly care about is at the end of it all hearing the words, “well done my good & faithful servant”.

Who is #God? by @queentheprophet

download (1)

Sounds like a funny question, right? Most people think “well everyone knows who God is…” but the truth is, they don’t. So these are some very personal questions that are really only for you to ask yourself because the answers are really between you and God.

Who is God to you?

When you pray, and if you pray to God, who are you speaking to?

If you only call on God when someone is sick or you have a need of some sort, who is it you’re calling?

Are you referring to the same God that’s in the bible or a different one?

The reason it’s important to ask yourself these questions is because we are living in a very dangerous time. We are living in a time where an alarming number of “End-Time” Bible prophecies are manifesting themselves. I don’t want to spend too much time talking about that right now because there are many people (I myself was included at one point)who frankly don’t have a clue who God actually is or what the Bible says. Over the years many people adapted a “type” of Christianity that was mainly only because it was passed down from their family and these religious traditions were only that, religious traditions. Many people were never taught how to have a personal relationship with God or that was even possible, many people don’t have any idea what the criteria is to actually get into heaven and they’re just under the impression only murders go to hell, but one of the worst things in my opinion is that since many people were never taught or encouraged to read the Bible for themselves, they practiced many “traditions” that were part of a religious culture which actually are nowhere, anywhere in the actual Bible with some of them going directly against what it says in the scriptures.

You see, the God of the Bible gave us a one-way ticket to heaven and that is through His son, Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 (NKJV)16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Some will say that there’s many roads to God and the bible tells us different. Jesus himself said,

John 14:6  (NKJV)6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Society may change, but God does not change. Just because the majority is doing something, doesn’t make it right (the exact same way your parents told you they didn’t care what your friends were doing because they weren’t their parents). Just because God and His laws are not as honored among the majority as it once was, does not mean in anyway, shape, or form that God’s law has changed. God has given us all the beautiful gift of free will. He has a constant invitation on the table for you to personally get to know Him. Not one of us is perfect, nor will we ever be but we can absolutely be forgiven for all of the ways we have that are unpleasing to God and enjoy the assurance of eternal life.

You don’t have to take my word for it because honestly, I’m nobody special. I can only testify to the fact that knowing Christ on an intimate level has made me a better person and saved my life. If the God you say you believe in is the God of the Bible, pick up a Bible, start reading and ask God to reveal Himself to you. If you have no idea where to start? The book of Matthew, Proverbs, and Psalms are very easy to understand. I strongly encourage you to make an informed decision before the day falls upon us where the window of opportunity to make a choice is closed. Although you may have “better things to do” then read the Bible, ask yourself if you will be okay with making the conscious choice not to find out who God truly is and then one day have to stand before Him?
