Planting Seeds
Never underestimate the power of a seed. Some seeds are strategically planted to grow into toxic fruit. What does toxic fruit do? Breeds selfishness, corrupts character, morals, and other wise good sense. But the fruit of the Spirit of God? Those seeds harvest love, patience, kindness, gentleness, joy, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23) We are all afforded the opportunity to plant seeds. Stay aware of what you’re planting & make sure you’re planting what you want to eat.
Suffer the pain of discipline or regret. The choice is yours.
There is a reason self control is named a “fruit of the Spirit” in the Bible. Everybody has at least one thorn in their side that self control could fix. The problem is nobody is willing to suffer through the pain of discipline. Sometimes you can’t eat things, engage in certain conversations, spend money, etc. Sometimes you have to suffer the pain of discipline in order to not suffer the pain of regret which will absolutely show up if you don’t get some self control.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV http://bible.com/114/gal.5.22-23.nkjv
Why won’t God just fix them?!
You can waste years of your #life waiting for #God to “fix” someone else & never see it. Often times the thing that needs changing in our situation is us no matter how right or wrong we perceive the other person to be. If a person, situation, or behavior has you stressed out, annoyed, angry, or worried you’re what needs to change. See when we are TRULY new creatures in #Christ we should be manifesting the fruit of the Spirit so when something annoying is going on? You are supposed to respond in His image (love, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control ) and until you do? Whatever is disturbing your peace or causing you to lose your self-control is going to keep repeating it’s self until that prideful you no longer answers the door.
Is your fruit edible?
Only rodents eat fruit that’s not good for human consumption. If you find yourself continuously in a position surrounded by rats, realize they wouldn’t keep coming if there wasn’t anything for them to eat. Every tree shall be known by it’s fruits. In order to be TRANSFORMED you must first be RESTORED. Restoration, Transformation.
