When you find yourself in a dry place
Experiencing a drought in your life isn’t always the devil. Sometimes God allows you to be cut off from what you have become dependent upon as your supply (job, relationships, people), so you can rely on the supplier and be aligned to receive what’s already scheduled to be released to you, but exactly at the moment and point of time He has already pre-scheduled. God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts. He has ways of teaching us valuable lessons in unusual ways. I can honestly say having a lot of money didn’t form my character, being broke did. I value honest friends because I’ve been betrayed. I appreciate genuine affection because I’ve been abused. Having a weekly paycheck didn’t teach me to walk by faith, loosing my job did. Ya’ll don’t hear me tho *shrug*
Seek God 1st
(Matthew 6:33) It says SEEK FIRST the kingdom of #God and His righteousness AND THEN all else will be added. You can’t skip the first part & expect stuff . Come on man that’s like showing up to the Olympics demanding a metal and you didn’t even play in the games or like me showing up at the phone company on pay day for a check & I don’t even work there . People that do that are the same folks that look at your hand of cards when you go to the bathroom.
Be an Encourager
We need more encouragers. This world has enough people & situations that try to ruin, hurt, shame, & break you. Imagine if we all lifted each other up instead. An important thing to remember though, is sometimes the encouragement you need is someone in love, telling you about yourself. What kind of help is it to allow you to believe you never do anything wrong? WE ALL DO. The wise people will love you for rebuking them & a fool will hate you for it (Proverbs 9:8)
Made in God’s Image
When you truly desire to be like God He allows you to go through tests, trials, and losses so He can form your character. Why? Because you can’t be full of faith while you doubt and you sho nuff can’t be full of God and full of yourself. #QueenTheProphet
Imagination, jaded memories.
Your imagination has the ability to sanitize your memories. The Israelite’s cried out to God to free them from being enslaved to the Egyptians, but when they were in the wilderness (their process) headed towards the promise land they began to complain. Their imagination began to clean up their memories to the point they started saying they were better off back in Egypt forgetting that they were in bondage there. (Exodus 16:3, Numbers 11)Sometimes “the good ol days” or that old place, or person you used to date really wasn’t as great as you’re trying to convince yourself it was just because what’s in front of you is difficult.
The Breath of Life
The book of Genesis (2:7) tells us that God breathed the breath of life into Adam and he became a living being. The original Hebrew word for breath is “ruach” which also means Spirit. We are living beings because the Spirit of God is inside of us every time we inhale and exhale. So the next time you don’t feel like you have anything to be thankful for and you’re sitting in your right mind? Inhale “THANK” and exhale “YOU”.
#NationalDayOfPrayer
The word “prayer” in the original Hebrew text is the word “tefillah”. In English, “prayer” means to ask, but the Hebrew word for prayer “tefillah” means to self-evaluate. So when you see the prayer reference in the bible (i.e. Jesus in the garden before going to the cross) that time was used for comparing actions, behaviors, thoughts, & attitudes against God’s holiness. So if you want a more effective prayer life? Enter His presence with adoration / thanksgiving, examine yourself (confession), and then your supplications (requests).
There’s levels to this…
I want to demonstrate a point with images most of you can relate to.
You cannot give up, and you are not allowed to quit. There are times during our walk that the refining fire gets turned up. Do you know that sometimes people never reach their full potential or get all that God has for them and it’s their own fault? I am sure you’ve heard the saying “new levels, new devils” right? See, stage 1 is the easy stage and most people get through it after a few tries. The levels get harder as you go up and the obstacles become more difficult.
Sometimes people quit and stay stuck on a certain level because they don’t want to push through the difficulties or feel like they can’t. If God has given you great dreams, great visions, & great purpose? Expect great tests & stress. Change your perspective. Adversary keeps us on our toes otherwise we’d get comfortable and lazy and I don’t care who you are, that’s just straight facts.
Of course we don’t want to be in adversary, uncomfortable, or rocked out of our comfort zone (especially me! Ask anyone who knows me well, I hate even talking to people half the time lol) but nothing great ever came from a comfort zone. You’re welcome.
